Heavy Metals
Our lab tests confirm that both our Ecuadorian and Peruvian cacao meet or exceed EU safety standards for heavy metals, ensuring they are safe for consumption.
Both varieties show exceptionally low lead levels, well below the EU limit of 0.1 mg/kg.
Cadmium, a naturally occurring element in cacao-growing soils, is also within safe limits, both comfortably under the EU maximum of 0.8 mg/kg for cacao.
Arsenic and mercury were detected at only trace levels, both far below any safety thresholds.
These results highlight our commitment to providing pure, high-quality cacao that is both safe and responsibly sourced.

Non-GMO
Independent laboratory tests have confirmed that neither our Ecuadorian nor Peruvian cacao contains any genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Using advanced DNA analysis, our cacao was tested for the presence of common genetic modifications, all of which were not detected in our products.
This means our cacao is truly non-GMO, preserving the natural integrity of the cacao bean just as nature intended.

This process involves analysing samples for the presence of microorganisms such as bacteria, moulds, yeasts, and pathogens like Salmonella.
By testing for these microbes, we can verify that our cacao is produced, handled, and stored under hygienic conditions, ensuring it is safe for consumption.
